Outstanding Quality & Durability
Made in Germany Quality – HSM StoreEx shredders are designed, engineered and manufactured in Germany for outstanding quality and durability. HSM manufactures virtually all shredder components except for electrics and conveyors from raw materials (steel & plastic) in their own engineering plant in South West Germany. StoreEx machines are assembled in the main engineering plant in Salem.
HSM StoreEx machines are covered by a 1-year on-site machine warranty (single shift operation under 2,000 hrs per annum). HSM shredders are supported in the UK by HSM's own team of Service engineers, with service work control handled out of the HSM Office in Burntwood, Staffordshire.
Robust Cutting Rollers
Hard Drive Shredder cutting rollers in both cutting heads are machined in HSM's CNC Machining Hall from solid rods of steel which are maintained at a constant temperature to maintain cutting tolerances. Cutters undergo a multi-stage manufacturing process including machining, induction hardening at over 800°C, precision grinding with exhaustive quality checks at every stage. These larger rollers are induction hardened offsite at a specialist facility to cope with the extremely high magnetic fields required. The resulting cutting rollers are extremely robust and very sharp, with a long effective service life.
Safe & Secure
40mm strip-cut cutting unit produces shred at H-3 security level. Not only are hard drives and other media cut into strips, they are also deformed and twisted as they pass through the cutting head and provide a good level of security for most commercial applications.
Media is placed into the 165mm wide feed slot and the feed handle depressed. Media is safely fed into the machine with no danger of flying splinters leaving the machine.
The large LED display enables the continuous input of media at a comfortable working height.
Powerful, Convenient & Easy to Use
With a powerful brushless DC induction motor and direct drive via an epicyclic gearbox to the cutting head, the HDS 150 is a single phase machine that connects to a normal 13 Amp socket.
This machine can shred:

210 x 3.5" hard drives/hour
Simple and intuitive control panel with an LCD display has 3 settings for different materials - Hard Drives, CD/DVD and Tape Drives, select optimum motor speed and torque for each material type. The panel sets the machine running and displays information and warning messages.
Convenient slide-out shredder bin tray with a removable light-but-strong 40-litre plastic crate bin. The crate is of a size that even when full of shredded drives, CDs, or tape, it can still be lifted out of the tray and emptied.

The new HSM StoreEx HDS 150 Shredder is the perfect solution for destroying all types of magnetic media and the big advantage: unlike most other hard drive shredders, the HSM HDS150 plugs into a standard single phase power supply.
The data protection compliant hard drive shredder HSM StoreEx HDS 150 destroys all types of digital media devices in a safe and economical way, including most hard drives, DLT, Ultrium, LTO magnetic tapes, CDs/DVDs, Blu-ray optical media, credit and identity cards, Solid State, even Phones and PDAs. Dependent on size and type up to 210 hard drives per hour.
The German made HSM StoreEx HDS150 hard drive mechanical shredder completely destroys all data media carriers safely and efficiently into tiny 40mm strip cut through specially hardened, indestructible, solid-steel cutting rollers, making retrieval practically impossible. Supplied with a powerful 1.5kW energy-saving motor and closed direct drive system the HDS150 produces low noise levels over a continuous operation which characterise this HSM power unit durability and robustness. Other features include an intelligent multi-functional control and display panel to select the various functional modes, intuitive operator display to indicate when the next data medium can be inserted via the manual feeding slot, and a large removable, easy empty waste container for effortless storage of the shredded media. emptying.
With really small drives (especially the ones that are a small, virtually bare, piece of circuit board with a chip on it) it is possible that some could go through the HDS 150 without very much damage as they could slip through the gaps in between the teeth.
