This is our own specification that we have created to give you a guide as to how often you should use your shredder. There are some models that can shred all day without pausing, however the figures below assume the amount of sheets of paper you would want to shred in an "average" day.
Simply read the descriptions of the different categories below to decide which category you fall into. This will help you to decide which category of
shredder that you require and allows you to browse our online store for a paper shredder that will best suit your needs.
Entry Level and Home Usage - These would generally be for a single user with the machines easily coping with the
destruction of up to 100 sheets of paper per day. These machines will usually only accept sheets that are up to and including A4.

Desk Side Usage - Expect to have a maximum requirement of up to 250 sheets per day. You may also require that the
machine will accept staples. These machines will usually only accept sheets that are up to and including A4.

Small Office Usage - Most Small offices would expect to shred up to 500 sheets (1 ream) of paper per day. A good idea would be to
expect to be able to cope with up to 4 people using the shredder in each office. You may also require that the machine will accept staples.
These machines will usually accept sheets that are up to and including A4 with certain models also accepting A3.

Medium Office Usage - These machines can usually cope with the waste documentation of up to 6 staff. The machine would normally be
centrally positioned and be capable of destroying up to 1000 sheets (2 reams) of paper per day. You may also require the ability to shred thick
files containing small clips and staples as well as Credit Cards and CD's or DVD's. These machines will usually accept sheets that are up to and
including A4 with certain models also accepting A3.

Departmental Usage - You would have up to 25 users in an office shredding 2500 sheets (1 box or 5 reams of photocopier paper) per day.
You may also require the ability to shred thick files containing small clips and staples as well as Credit Cards and CD's or DVD's. These machines will usually
accept either A4 or A3 sheets as well as full width computer printouts.
